My husband bought me a rice/vegetable steamer for my birthday. I tried it out tonight with just steaming some broccoli, and man o man was it delicious, we put some lemon butter on top. But my question is does anyone have one and what do you like to make with yours? I would love to find some great tried and true recipes. Maybe some recipes for rice and some for veggies. Thanks for any replies.Recipes for a Rice/Vegetable Steamer?

Make Chinese Dimsum. They're so easy, helthy and flavorful.
Mix together 1/2 lb ground turkey, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp minced fresh ginger, 1 tbsp minced green onions, 1 tnsp minced cilantro or celery leaves, 1 egg, 1 tbsp corn starch.
Mound 1/2 tsp in middle of wonton skin (from supermarkets), fold the skin diagonally, pinch together. Make a lot of dimsum.
Arrange dimsum on napa cabbage or lettuce leaves in the steamer, 1 layer at a time. Steam 10 minutes. Repeat until all dimsum is cooked.
Dipping sauce: 2 tbsp soy sauce, dash of tabasco, 1/4 tsp lemon juice.

Chinese five spice over some sushi rice, steam some broccoli, yellow squash, carrots, onions and some small red potatoes-dust that with light sprinkling of pepper, salt, paprika, cumin and garlic powder. Put veggies over rice and drizzle with a light homemade gravy or melted butter.
I love to put brown rice and mushrooms in mine!!! Follow your directions for the rice/water ratio, then put in 1/2 of a medium onion chopped fine and 8 oz. of sliced mushrooms. For a tastier version put a can of beef or chicken broth in and add water until you have enough liquid. I've also added a can of ';cream of'; soup, or frozen peas. I love to steam little red potatoes and carrots--with my steamer it's about 1 cup of water. The great thing about steaming is you get the full flavor of the veggies and they keep their color!!! And I've been told the vitamins are still there!
